On Friday night, I went to the Central Park at 1 Utama with a couple of friends to watch two movies under the stars. The two movies, Magic Gourd and Transformers, were shown at the park next to a lake opposite 1 Utama. A few hundred people came for the movies. Many came as a family with children. Most of us brought plastic mats, stools, food and drinks and sat on the grass and watched the movies from a big screen in front of us. It was a cool night and although the ground was wet from the rain the previous night, we were thankful it didn’t rain that night.
The last time I went out to watch a movie in the open air was when I was a child, and at that time, movies were in black and white. Now that I’ve grown older, I find it a bit of a back breaking business sitting on the grass instead of a chair. After four hours of sitting, my knees became stiff and my back ached. Nevertheless, it was a good outing for the city folks who hardly have the time to enjoy the great outdoors.
